Information You Submit
Partner Search Entries
A name, location, or other term entered in a search box is sent to the third-party provider that operates the search. Lauderdale County Released Inmates does not store or log those query terms on its own systems. The provider's policy and terms govern its receipt and handling of the search. Avoid placing sensitive personal details in a query unless the provider clearly asks for them and they are needed for the requested search.
Messages Sent to Us
An email or contact-form submission may include a name, return address, and whatever details the sender chooses to provide. We retain that message as needed to read it, respond, and maintain the exchange. We do not share a direct message outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law, court process, or another valid legal demand.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Routine web systems may record limited technical and usage details when a page loads. This information helps operate the service and diagnose faults. It is not the same as an official Lauderdale County jail, court, or MDOC record. The logged details may include:
- The internet protocol address used for the request
- Browser type and version
- Device category and operating system
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them
- The referring website, when one is supplied
- Date and time stamps associated with requests
Cookies and Browser Controls
Cookies and similar browser storage may help show how visitors move through the site and which pages work well. Most browsers allow cookies to be blocked, limited, or deleted. Using those controls may change how some features behave, including partner search or advertising functions.
Purposes for Using Data
Information is used only for the operational and service purposes described in this notice. Those purposes include:
- Maintaining reliable and responsive page delivery
- Sending a search request to the selected partner service
- Understanding which release-record pages visitors find useful
- Finding, testing, and correcting technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
Privacy Beyond This Site
Links may lead to the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Office, county courts, the Mississippi Department of Corrections, MS SAVIN, federal locators, legal resources, or third-party search tools. A government records request may be governed by the Mississippi Public Records Act, ยงยง25-61-1 through 25-61-19, and the receiving office's procedures. Once a visitor follows an outside link, that destination's own privacy notice controls its collection and use of data.
Some advertising providers may use their systems to observe activity across more than one website and tailor ads. That cross-site tracking takes place under the advertiser's technology and policy, not as a Lauderdale County release record maintained here.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited information may still reach vendors or authorities when needed for the functions described here or when the law requires it. Possible recipients include:
- Search partners that process submitted queries
- Analytics providers that measure site use
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure ads
- Law enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order
Reasonable Security Measures
We use standard safeguards intended to reduce unauthorized access, misuse, alteration, or loss. Internet-connected services always carry risk, however. No website, transmission method, or storage system can be promised as completely secure or breach-proof.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than eighteen. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Contacts page to request review and deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and the limits of what we hold, a visitor may ask us to:
- Provide a copy of personal data held about that visitor
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Delete personal data where erasure is available
- Stop or opt out of certain forms of processing
Changes to This Notice
This Privacy Notice may be revised as services, vendors, or legal requirements change. An updated version will be posted on this page and identified with a new effective date. Continued use after publication means the revised notice applies to later activity.
